Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan marked July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day with a solemn declaration, reaffirming Türkiye’s unwavering stance against threats to its sovereignty from internal factions or external proxies.

He paid tribute to the victims of July 15th coup attempt and expressed gratitude to veterans for their sacrifices. In a statement shared on his social media account X, Minister Fidan underscored the pivotal role of the Turkish nation in thwarting the coup attempt orchestrated by the Gulenist Terrorist Organization (FETO), which had infiltrated critical state institutions.

Highlighting the resolve shown on July 15th, Minister Fidan emphasized the decisive counteraction against the coup attempt orchestrated by FETO’s military networks under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He reaffirmed Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to pursuing justice against FETO members abroad, stating: “We continue to decisively take every step to bring to justice the members of this organization abroad.”

Minister Fidan also emphasized that those who undermine the will of the Turkish nation will face severe consequences.

Determined to pursue FETO abroad

Highlighting the resolve shown on July 15, Minister Fidan emphasized the coup attempt, orchestrated by FETO’s networks within the military, was decisively countered under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He reaffirmed Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to pursue justice against FETO members abroad, saying, “We continue to decisively take every step to bring to justice the members of this organization abroad.”

He also stressed that those who undermine the Turkish nation’s will shall face consequences.
