Terrorist links found in social media accounts inciting Kayseri unrest
Security sources have reported that the social media accounts that instigated the incidents in Kayseri, where a Syrian person sexually abused a child, have been linked to terrorist organizations.
Some of the accounts sharing posts were identified as belonging to PKK/YPG terrorist organizations, some as supporters of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), and others were linked to the U.S. and Germany.
Security sources have reported that social media accounts inciting provocation related to the incident of a Syrian man allegedly abusing a child in Kayseri have been linked to terrorist organizations.
Following the incident, anti-Turkish elements have been identified in 22 provinces, including Hatay, Gaziantep, Konya, Bursa and Istanbul, as well as in areas under Turkish control in northern Syria, contributing to public unrest. These elements, who use social media to disturb peace, are connected to terrorist organizations.
According to the reports, the social media accounts making these posts are not acting independently. These accounts, which incite provocative actions, are being used as tools by the organizations to which they are linked.
It is also assessed that the terrorist organizations’ anti-Türkiye activities are being directed by other external forces. By creating feelings of hatred and animosity among people, the goal of these terrorist organizations is to use these events as tools to create chaos in the country.
