Borussia Dortmund leads race for Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz

Reports indicated that Dortmund is preparing to offer around $32.5 million for the talented player.

Besides Borussia Dortmund, Premier League clubs Arsenal and Aston Villa have shown interest in Yilmaz. Arsenal, in particular, has been monitoring his performance closely, while Aston Villa is reportedly ready to match the $31.5 million transfer fee.

Ankara Keciorengucu, Yilmaz’s former club, is set to benefit from any future transfer. Club president Sedat Tahiroglu revealed: “Baris Alper Yilmaz’s next transfer includes a 20% sell-on clause for us, but Galatasaray has not contacted us about it.”

Tahiroglu confirmed the interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Dortmund, emphasizing that the final decision should prioritize Yilmaz’s career development over financial gain.

“Three clubs are after him. I hear Liverpool and Arsenal are interested, but I know for sure that Nuri Sahin wants him for Dortmund. I don’t think the price will reach $54 million. He could be sold for around $32.5 million. Turkish football needs to support the growth of young players,” Tahiroglu stated.

Dortmund withdraws from Ferdi Kadioglu race

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund has decided not to pursue a transfer for Ferdi Kadioglu, another standout player from Euro 2024. Financial considerations and Fenerbahce’s firm stance on his transfer fee led to this decision.

Fenerbahce demanded more than $32.5 million for Kadioglu, which Dortmund found too high.

This decision might signal Dortmund’s focus on securing Yilmaz, as they look to strengthen their squad with more cost-effective options.
