Bosnian Serb leader Dodik announces plans for Serb independence
Milorad Dodik, the separatist leader of the Bosnian Serb entity, has announced that the Serbs are preparing to declare independence from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Known for his frequent praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dodik has intensified his separatist rhetoric following discussions about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s potential NATO membership.
“We will never consent to Bosnia and Herzegovina joining NATO,” Dodik declared.
He emphasized that if Bosnia and Herzegovina pursues NATO membership, the Serbs will exercise their right to secede. “The Serb Republic will very soon declare its independence,” he asserted.
This announcement marks a significant escalation in Dodik’s separatist agenda, raising concerns about stability in the region.
