Russia calls Biden administration’s Palestine policy bankrupt

Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday that the United States is responsible for the tragedy in Gaza

On Friday, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova made critical statements on the Palestinian issue.

Claiming that the Joe Biden administration’s Palestine policy is bankrupt, Zaharova said, “As a result of the bankrupt policy of the Biden administration, the Middle East has been plunged into crises. There was a big explosion in the region.” 

Reminding the harsh intervention against students during demonstrations in support of Palestine organized at universities in the U.S., Zaharova said, “It should be checked whether human rights are respected in the U.S. Disproportionate force was used by the U.S. police against students defending the interests of the innocent Palestinian people. We are watching the developments with concern.”

Finding the statements emphasizing that the U.S. advocates a two-state solution on the Palestinian issue disingenuous, Zaharova said, “American representatives cynically declare that they are committed to the fundamentals of the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, including the two-state formula. It is the US itself that has completely hijacked the peace process over the past few years.”
