Turkish EV maker TOGG in talks with Chinese giant for production
Zafer Sirakaya, Deputy Chairman of AK Party, announced that Chinese companies are eager to form a production mechanism with TOGG, revealing that talks have begun between TOGG and Chinese company Guangzhou Automobile Group.
Speaking to Reuters, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of Foreign Affairs Zafer Sirakaya stated that Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) is holding discussions with TOGG regarding joint production of electric vehicles. As part of these talks, a visit to TOGG is planned for July.
Guangzhou Automobile Group, a China-based automotive company, was founded in 1955 and primarily produces cars and buses.
GAC Group manufactures and sells vehicles under its own brands such as Trumpchi, Aion, and Hycan, as well as through joint ventures with foreign brands including GAC-Toyota, GAC-Honda, GAC-FCA (Jeep), and GAC-Mitsubishi.
In addition, the company produces electric vehicles, including specialized EV brands like Aion and Hycan. As of 2021, GAC Group was the fifth largest car manufacturer in China, with 2.144 million sales.
