EU’s Borrell meets Greek Defense Minister Dendias in Athens
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell met with Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias in Athens Friday.
Dendias shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he had discussions with Borrell in Athens.
Nikos Dendias stated that the meeting addressed regional and international security issues, the formation of an EU defense arm, strategic orientations, the European defense strategy and ongoing EU Defense and Security Operations.
According to a post on the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs X account, Borrell also met with Greek Foreign Minister Yorgos Yerapetritis during his visit to Athens on Friday.
The post noted that Yerapetritis and Borrell discussed regional developments and critical agenda items ahead of the upcoming EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting.
Reports in the Greek media indicate that Dendias and Borrell are expected to visit the Greek Navy frigate “Psara,” which is part of the EU’s “Aspides” mission in the Red Sea, on Saturday.
