Turkish national football team will face the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 quarterfinal match on Saturday.

Türkiye, which has reached the last eight teams in the championship hosted by Germany, aims to advance to the semifinals by defeating the Netherlands. The match at Berlin Olympic Stadium will kick off at 10 p.m. local time.

The national team finished second in Group F, which included Portugal, Georgia and the Czech Republic, with two wins and one loss, securing a spot in the Round of 16. Türkiye defeated Austria 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals in this round.

On the other hand, the Netherlands finished the group stage in third place with four points in Group D, which included France, Austria and Poland. The Netherlands advanced to the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams and defeated Romania 3-0 to reach the quarterfinals.

The winner of this match will face the winner of the England-Switzerland clash in the semifinals on July 10 in Dortmund.

The match between the Netherlands and Türkiye will be officiated by French referee Clement Turpin, with assistants Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages from the same country. The fourth official will be Felix Zwayer from the German Football Association, while Jerome Brisard from France will serve as the VAR official.

Ismail Yuksek and Orkun Kokcu of the Turkish team will be unable to play in Saturday’s match due to suspension. However, team captain Hakan Calhanoglu and Samet Akaydin, who have served their suspensions, will be eligible to play.

There is uncertainty whether Merih Demiral, under investigation for making the bozkurt (gray wolf) hand gesture during national team play, will face disciplinary action. The Netherlands has no players serving suspensions for the upcoming match.

National team is expected to start the Netherlands match with Mert Gunok in goal. Mert Muldur, Merih Demiral, Abdulkerim Bardakci and Ferdi Kadioglu are expected to play in defense. Kaan Ayhan, Hakan Calhanoglu and Salih Ozcan are expected to play in midfield. Arda Guler is expected to play at right forward, Kerem Akturkoglu at left forward, while Baris Alper Yilmaz is likely to play at center forward.
