Turkish, Pakistani top officials meet in Gambia to discuss bilateral relations

During a meeting at the sidelines of the 15th Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit in Banjul, Gambia, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar convened.
Leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations, emphasizing the exceptional ties and strong friendship bonds between the two countries.
Both parties expressed contentment with the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further enhance cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, and defense domains.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has been at the forefront of Türkiye’s diplomatic initiatives at the 15th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Banjul.
President Erdogan previously spoke to Pakistani counterpart
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke with Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari over the phone a month ago.
During the discussion, which focused on Türkiye-Pakistan relations, President Erdogan expressed determination to strengthen the relations between the two countries in all areas.
Erdogan noted that the exemplary bilateral relations would be further reinforced with the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting to be held in the future.
