‘Normalization talks with government not over yet,’ says main opposition leader Ozel
Main Opposition leader Ozgur Ozel Monday maintained that the normalization process with the government hasn’t ended yet.
Answering questions from a journalist, Ozel said: “Th process of normalization hasn’t ended in my view because the purpose of normalization is to prevent minor disputes from turning into lasting grudges and separations.”
Criticizing the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), a partner in the ruling coalition, Ozel said: “The MHP might have been uncomfortable with normalization early on. The Justice and Development Party (AK Party) might have called the MHP’s bluff. But no matter how much they try to sabotage normalization, there is a societal demand for it.”
Speaking about supporting Erdogan and the People’s Alliance, Ozel said: “If I tell President Erdogan to support him in Parliament, I will,” he concluded.
