A cargo ship named ALEXIS, measuring 229 meters, ran aground due to engine failure in front of the Haydarpasa Pier in Istanbul. Ship traffic in the Bosphorus has been temporarily suspended in both directions.

According to a statement made by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety on social media, the cargo ship ALEXIS, sailing from Ukraine to Egypt, ran aground in front of the Haydarpasa Pier due to engine failure.

It was announced that the rescue tugs RESCUE-6, RESCUE-8, RESCUE-18, as well as fast rescue boats KEGM-4 and KEGM-6, along with divers, were directed to the scene to salvage the ship.
