Kazakhstan’s Istanbul Consul General visits Ihlas Media Group
During a visit to Ihlas Media Group on Tuesday, Nuriddin Amankul, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul, engaged with Türkiye Today, addressing critical questions about the growing relationship between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.
Amankul, who was greeted by TGRT General Manager Sait Eken, TGRT News General Director Ercan Seki, Digital Assets General Manager Volkan Ormanli, and Türkiye Today Editor-in-Chief Osman Bahattin Dirlik, toured the various departments of Ihlas Media Group, offering his best wishes for their ongoing success.
“Our governments are carrying out the necessary work”
Türkiye Today posed questions about the Middle Corridor Project, a pivotal initiative aimed at connecting Turkic countries.
Kazakhstan being a significant part of the project, Amankul replied to the question of whether the project could evolve into a modern Silk Road positively. Amankul stated, “I think it can. For many years, necessary agreements have been made and work has been carried out between our governments. Significant strides have been made in developing infrastructure in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan wants to leverage its logistical advantages, and therefore, the state is making necessary investments in this area.”
“Turkish investments span over 70 sectors”
Türkiye Today also inquired about the ambitious plan to increase the trade volume between Kazakhstan and Turkey to $10 billion. Amankul provided a detailed response: “There is a goal set by our presidents. The last milestone we reached was $6.2 billion. Commissions are working mutually towards the $10 billion target. As you know, the 13th Session of the Turkey-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Joint Economic Commission was held in Ankara on April 25. Work is being done on the lists that were drawn up. In our country, there are Turkish investments in over 70 sectors, including pharmaceuticals and door and window manufacturing. Additionally, we have collaborations in the military sector as well.”
