Ruling AK Party to continue second wave of reforms through summer
Despite the expected recess of Parliament at the end of July, the ruling AK Party will continue its efforts to implement the second wave of reforms without delay. The party will engage in consultations with academic think tanks, civil society organizations, community associations, and citizens to address pressing issues affecting the public.
Reports from ministers, MPs, provincial party organizations, central executive committee members, and former active party members will be analyzed. Every demand from citizens will be included, prioritizing economic reforms to alleviate financial burdens on the public.
The party aims to identify and address the concerns of all demographics, including retirees, workers, civil servants, students, homemakers and disadvantaged groups. Reforms to enhance trust in the legal system and justice, as well as those paving the way for Türkiye’s future, are also prioritized.
In many key areas – such as trade, health, education, family, culture and arts, agriculture and livestock, labor, sports, industry and technology, transportation, and energy – reforms will be carried out under subheadings including the free movement of goods, the right to establish and operate businesses, free movement of capital, corporate law, property law, competition policy, financial services, consumer and health protection, competitiveness and inclusiveness, digital transformation and media, economic and monetary policy, social policy and employment, business and capital policy, science and research, customs union, agricultural alignment, rural development, food safety, plant health, and fisheries.
To ensure the permanence of these reforms, work on a new civilian constitution will continue at full speed. The party will seek input from all segments of society and consult with opposition parties to secure their support. These structural reforms aim to elevate Türkiye to a higher income group.
