Indian ambassador to Ankara passes away
In a somber announcement on Friday, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar shared the news of the passing of Virander Paul, India’s Ambassador to Türkiye.
“This is a significant loss for the Indian Foreign Service. I had the privilege of working closely with him during many of his postings,” Jaishankar expressed on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Jaishankar lauded Paul’s unwavering dedication and service, highlighting his numerous contributions to Indian diplomacy. “I have always admired his commitment and service and deeply value his many contributions,” he added.
Ambassador Paul, who had been battling cancer, passed away in India. His passing marks the end of a distinguished career marked by commitment and excellence in service.
