Here are Türkiye’s most and least-trusted media outlets, reveals report
Oxford University’s Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism has released its annual Digital News Report, which includes an evaluation of media organizations in Türkiye.
Conducted with 94,943 participants across 47 countries, the research offers a global overview of digital journalism.
In Türkiye, the report revealed that trust in news stands at 35%, showing a slight increase in trust toward media outlets that provide critical coverage compared to 2023. Despite ongoing governmental pressures on media, the report highlights setbacks for the government following local election defeats.
The study noted that media censorship in Türkiye extends to social media and video platforms, emphasizing that television and news websites remain the primary sources of news, while printed newspapers continue to decline.
