In a setback for Turkish citizens planning to travel from Marmaris district in Mugla to Rhodes Island, 473 individuals were denied entry by Rhodes police due to capacity constraints following the introduction of on-arrival visa procedures.

During the Eid holiday period, Turkish tourists faced difficulties as Rhodes police, citing overcrowding exacerbated by tourist arrivals, refused entry to those intending to obtain visas upon arrival.

The situation turned into a nightmare for Turkish citizens, with Rhodes police explaining that the port was unable to accommodate additional travelers for the Marmaris-Rhodes journey due to the high volume of people.

According to reports, despite those holding Schengen visas being permitted entry, Rhodes police maintained restrictions due to the island’s capacity limitations, preventing the planned visit by 473 individuals who had intended to stay on Rhodes Island for three days.
