Coca-Cola’s recent advertisement in Bangladesh has ignited a debate due to its attempt to distance itself from Israel amid the Gaza conflict.

According to reports from local media, Coca-Cola sales in Bangladesh have dropped by approximately 23% since the Gaza war.

In a bid to increase sales, the company aired a new advertisement on Sunday on television and social media. The advertisement aims to clarify the misconception that Coca-Cola is an Israeli product and highlights its enduring popularity, stating that the beverage has been loved “for 138 years” in 190 countries.

However, the advertisement has faced criticism online and offline. Many Bangladeshis have condemned it for being insensitive and inaccurate.
