Turkish Red Crescent feeds 15,000 daily in Gaza amid ongoing conflict
The Turkish Red Crescent has increased the capacity of its soup kitchen in Deir al-Balah, located in the central Gaza Strip. The kitchen now distributes hot meals to 15,000 people daily in the conflict-ridden enclave.
“The Red Crescent, which relocated its soup kitchen to Deir al-Balah because of the ongoing conflict in the Rafah region, is now providing hot meals to 15,000 people a day,” the aid organization announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement also emphasized the group’s efforts to secure alternative routes for delivering much-needed aid.
The Turkish Red Crescent will continue to stand by the Palestinian people.

In response to a shortage of bottled gas, local Red Crescent staff are boiling water with wood collected from the rubble of destroyed buildings. Meals prepared in the soup kitchen are delivered to those in need in large boilers.
Despite challenging conditions, the Turkish Red Crescent has successfully boosted the capacity of its soup kitchen in Deir al-Balah from 10,000 to 15,000 people per day.
Death toll rises amid cease-fire calls
Israel has faced international condemnation amid its ongoing offensive on Gaza, which began after the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas, despite a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
According to local health authorities, over 37,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in Gaza, with nearly 85,000 others injured.
Eight months into the conflict, vast areas of Gaza are in ruins, and a crippling blockade continues to restrict access to food, clean water and medicine.
Israel is currently facing accusations of genocide at the ICJ, which has ordered Tel Aviv to halt its operations in Rafah immediately. This southern city had become a refuge for over a million Palestinians before it was invaded on May 6.
