Czech police detain suspect for a terror plot in Prague
Prague police have taken extraordinary measures in response to a terrorist threat. Authorities received information about a potential explosion at a shopping center. The primary suspect, a South American man who was previously on the run, is now in custody.
Preventive measures in place
Czech Minister of the Interior, Vit Rakusan, stated on social media that while heightened security measures remain in effect, there is no immediate danger to the public.
Public assistance and arrest
“Thanks to the public’s help, criminal investigators from the Czech Department of Extremism and Terrorism successfully located and detained the suspect,” police announced.
Enhanced security measures were adopted in Prague on Sunday night. “Further information will be provided to the public after the State Security Council meeting. The Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office in Prague has reserved the right to provide information in the criminal case,” the police added.
