Japan decides to halt PKK terorist organization’s assets
Journalist Ishii Takaaki reports Japan’s law to freeze PKK assets calling for cooperation with Türkiye to stop PKK activities in Japan
Ishii Takaaki, a journalist renowned for uncovering the presence of the terrorist organization PKK in Japan, commended his country’s recent actions concerning the PKK’s activities. He called on Türkiye to cooperate with Japan against PKK.
In a statement on his X account, Takaaki drew attention to the discussions held in the Japanese Parliament on May 8, which revealed that Kurds living in Japan supported the PKK during the Newroz festival.
Reports indicated that participants waved PKK flags and sang military songs praising the organization in Japan.
As a result of Japan’s efforts, the government passed a law freezing the PKK’s assets in Japan, Takaaki said.
“The Japanese government has approved a law freezing the PKK’s assets. Japan’s Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa also stated that the PKK should be monitored. Let’s stop the PKK’s activities with Türkiye-Japan cooperation,” Takaaki pointed out on his social media account.
The decisive step taken by Japan reflects the culmination of extensive national and international efforts, led by Türkiye, which have led to significant setbacks in the PKK’s global operations.
The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S. and the EU., has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 individuals in its nearly four-decade-long terror campaign against Türkiye.
