Students from Azerbaijan Technical University and Azerbaijan National Aviation Academy, in collaboration with Turkish Aerospace Industries, have developed an unmanned aerial vehicle

As part of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) Engineer Development Program (EDP), 40 Azerbaijani students successfully concluded the first flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

The EDP administered an eight-month training program, after which pupils assembled the UAV in a workshop associated with Azerbaijan Technical University. The students assembled the entire UAV, specifically designed for military operations.

Bayraktar Technology Azerbaijan extended job offers to four project participants and sent them to Türkiye for further training

The head of the TAI Academy, professor Ahmet Pinarbasi, stated to the press in Baku on behalf of the project that the EDP initiative was initiated in Azerbaijan as the first location beyond Türkiye, with the intention of supplying the aviation and defense sectors with trained personnel.

Pinarbasi said, “We established the necessary infrastructure at Azerbaijan Technical University. Our trainers from Ankara train our 40 young students here on a regular basis. As a result, they designed and manufactured this UAV. The UAV successfully took off, flew, and landed. It was a very successful program.”

Professor Vilayet Veliyev, the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, revealed plans to construct a workshop and four classrooms as part of the project.

“Our students produced all parts of the UAV, demonstrating their ability to turn theoretical knowledge into practice,” Veliyev continued.

The deputy rector of the Azerbaijan National Aviation Academy, professor Adalet Samedov, stated that similar initiatives to educate young engineers for the defense and aviation industries in Azerbaijan would continue
