Türkiye’s Bayraktar Akinci Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TIHA) has successfully completed firing tests against both moving and fixed maritime targets

Türkiye’s military sector accomplished a critical milestone when the Bayraktar Akinci successfully completed firing tests against both moving and fixed maritime targets. The Defense Industries Presidency hailed the successful tests, which highlight Türkiye’s progress in unmanned aerial systems.

Baykar’s Akinci Project is successfully merging national ammunition and sub-components into the Bayraktar Akinci , guided by the Defense Industries Presidency. This effort resulted in the recent successful shooting tests, which demonstrated the platform’s effectiveness in a variety of operational circumstances.

The Bayraktar Akinci flew from the Akinci Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdag, with Mini Smart Ammunitions and an ASELFLIR-500 system. In the first part of the test, it attacked a fixed sea target exactly from 30,000 feet utilizing MAM-T explosives. During the second phase, the used MAM-L missiles to successfully eliminate a moving sea target, the Albatros IDA, demonstrating its adaptability and precision.

This successful set of firing exercises demonstrates the Bayraktar Akinci’s marine operations proficiency, increasing Türkiye’s capacity to protect its maritime interests and national security.

The Bayraktar Akinci’s prior accomplishments include the successful use of the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Targeting System during February testing, further confirming its position as a formidable unmanned aerial platform.

In other news, the Bayraktar Akinci C, with a total power of 1700 HP, accomplished a test flight lasting over an hour, verifying its aerodynamic characteristics and cementing its standing as a cutting-edge fighting platform.

The Bayraktar Akinci has exceeded 50,000 flying hours, demonstrating its dependability and durability in satisfying operational demands.

Aside from scientific achievements, Baykar has established itself as a top exporter in the defense and aviation sectors. Baykar’s UAVs, such as the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci , have been exported to 34 countries, advancing Türkiye’s defense capabilities and contributing to the country’s export economy.

The Bayraktar Akinci successfully completed shooting tests, demonstrating Türkiye’s dedication to self-reliance in defense technology and innovation in unmanned aerial systems.
