On Sunday, the European Union pushed Senegal’s government to “guarantee fundamental freedoms” following the death of a third person due to unrest brought on by the postponement of presidential elections.
The EU’s spokesman for foreign affairs and security policy, Nabila Massrali, said on X, previously Twitter, “The EU presents its condolences to relatives of the dead and calls on the authorities to guarantee fundamental freedoms.”
