In a speech on Thursday in Kahta, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated government’s relentless determination to meet the needs of regions hit by earthquakes, saying, “Whatever else others may pursue as their agenda, our top priority remains areas affected by the earthquake.”

After an AK Party Candidate Introduction in Adiyaman, President Erdogan went to Kahta district and thanked the citizens for their passion, enthusiasm, and loyalty. Erdogan, pointing to a poster in the area, reiterated that he intended to fulfill his promises and noted his pledge during last year’s  Adiyaman rally to visit Kahta as soon as possible after the presidential and parliamentary elections.

While addressing the crowd, Erdogan mentioned Kahta’s strong support in both rounds of the presidential election with a high voter turnout of 84% during the second round. He expressed confidence in Kahta’s continued support in the upcoming local elections.

Following the earlier delivery of 1314 housing units in Sanliurfa, President Erdogan assured the audience of his government’s commitment to rebuilding earthquake-stricken areas, mentioning 700 housing units delivered in Kahta and further efforts to provide aid for earthquake victims.

Regarding the ongoing challenges, Erdogan admitted that relief efforts were delayed but emphasized the government’s unwavering determination to surmount barriers and serve its people. He stressed that the government continues to focus on action and service, not petty politics.

Erdogan concluded his speech by calling for the people’s support in local elections and offered condolences to families who lost their loved ones to the earthquake. He swore to work hard and rebuild Kahta, ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
