Hamas wants a complete and comprehensive ceasefire
Hamas seeks a “complete and comprehensive ceasefire” in Gaza, following Qatar’s consideration of a temporary truce framework
In a statement on Monday, senior Hamas official Taher al-Nunu expressed the Palestinian group’s desire for a “complete and comprehensive ceasefire” in Gaza. The announcement follows mediator Qatar’s indication that a framework for a temporary truce is under consideration.
“We are talking first of all about a complete and comprehensive ceasefire and not a temporary truce,” Al-Nunu told to media.
He emphasized that once hostilities cease, further discussions could address additional details, including the release of hostages. The developments indicate a potential shift in the ongoing conflict, with diplomatic efforts exploring avenues for a more lasting resolution in the region.
