Bills vs Steelers game has been canceled and this year’s playoffs might see one of the coldest games in history at Kansas

NFL playoffs struggle with the cold climate as Kansas City is expected to host Miami for one of the stadium’s coldest games ever this Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills’ NFL wildcard playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed until Monday due to a winter storm, according to NFL.

“Due to public safety concerns in light of the ongoing weather emergency in western New York, Sunday’s Steelers-Bills game has been rescheduled to Monday,” the NFL and the Bills announced on Saturday.

“The decision to move the game to Monday was made in consultation with New York Governor Kathy Hochul in the best interest of public safety, and with the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the region prepares for the storm,” the statement added.

The Bill’s Highmark Stadium is in Erie County, in western New York state, which has a travel ban due to be imposed starting from Saturday night.

“The bull’s-eye of the storm is predicted to hit midday Sunday afternoon right during the scheduled Buffalo Bills game,” Hochul told a news conference.

The cold weather is expected to impact Kansas City’s home game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday with temperatures forecast to fall as low as minus 5 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 20 degrees Celsius).

If the temperatures show sub-zero, this game will be in the history books as one of the coldest games of the NFL and the coldest in Kansas City’s stadium, surpassing the previous record which was 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit in 1983.
