Moldovan tourist converts to Islam during Bartin vacation

Moldovan tourist’s Bartin vacation takes a spiritual turn as she converts to Islam, receiving warm congratulations and a ‘conversion certificate’ from local authorities

Moldovan tourist Moise Maria, 50, visiting Bartin for a vacation, made a life-changing decision during her stay. Influenced by her experiences in the region, Maria decided to embrace Islam, marking a significant chapter in her spiritual journey.

Maria applied to the Provincial Mufti’s Office for conversion to Islam.

Under the guidance of Vaiz Ali Ustunsoy, she embraced Islam by reciting the Shahada,  a mandatory declaration of faith to become Muslim, during a conversion ceremony.

Renamed Meryem, she was congratulated by Ustunsoy and received a “conversion certificate,” Quran, and other Islamic literature, marking a new chapter in her spiritual journey.
