Yildiz Holding, the parent company of Türkiye’s largest food manufacturer Ulker, announced on Monday the appointment of Mehmet Tutuncu as its new chairman, succeeding Ali Ulker.

According to the company statement, Tutuncu has served as vice chairman and CEO of the holding since 2018. He assumed the role of chairman following a resolution at the latest board meeting, taking over from Ali Ulker, who had held the position since 2020.

In a farewell message addressed to employees and cited in the statement, Ali Ulker reflected on completing five years as chairman and extended his best wishes to Tutuncu.

Yildiz Holding board member and former chairman Murat Ulker also expressed his gratitude to Ali Ulker for his leadership during challenging times and his efforts to guide the company into the future.

Founded in 1944, Yildiz Holding is Türkiye’s largest food conglomerate. It employs around 80,000 people and operates 42 factories—20 of them outside Türkiye—with a portfolio of more than 300 brands available across five continents, reaching approximately 4 billion consumers.

In a related development earlier in March, Guler Sabanci also stepped down as chairwoman of Sabanci Holding, another major Turkish conglomerate.
