Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek is scheduled to embark on a critical round of economic diplomacy in May, with visits to Brussels and London aimed at strengthening ties with international investors and enhancing economic dialogue with the European Union, according to Turkish media.

After holding meetings with investors in London in January and in Brussels in April, as well as participating in high-level discussions during last week’s IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings in the United States, Simsek’s upcoming engagements are regarded as further efforts to promote Türkiye’s economic program to the international investment community.

Focus on EU dialogue in Brussels, investor conference in London

According to the information obtained by business-focused CNBC-e, Simsek’s tour will begin in the second week of May with a visit to Brussels, where he is expected to attend the Economic and Financial Dialogue Meeting between the European Union and its Western partners. The meeting is expected to focus on Türkiye–EU economic relations and examine opportunities for mutual investment.

After his Brussels meetings, Simsek will travel to London to address the investor conference titled “Türkiye 2025: A New Era of Growth” organized by BNP Paribas on May 12–13. The event is expected to attract significant interest from global investors and will also include participation from leading figures in Türkiye’s banking and real sectors.

Simsek will also attend the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) 2025 Annual Meeting and Business Forum, which will take place in London from May 13 to 15 under the theme “Expanding Horizons, Strengthening Resilience.” During the event, he will present an overview of Türkiye’s economic outlook, highlighting recent policy measures, growth projections, and the government’s priorities for strengthening macroeconomic stability and attracting international investment.
