Magnitude 4.3 earthquake strikes Türkiye’s Kutahya, felt across region

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake rattled Türkiye’s Kutahya province on Monday evening, according to the country’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The quake struck at 8:24 p.m. local time, with its epicenter located in the Simav district of Kutahya. AFAD reported the tremor occurred at a depth of 13.43 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt not only in Kutahya but also in the neighboring provinces of Balıkesir, Bursa, Usak, Afyonkarahisar and Manisa.
Second quake hits Kutahya’s district
Meanwhile, Kandilli Observatory also reported the magnitude of the Simav-based earthquake as 4.3. In a statement, the observatory noted that another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 occurred at the same location at 8:25 p.m. local time.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been issued. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
Meanwhile, Musa Isin, Governor of Kutahya, made a statement on his X account regarding the earthquake, saying, “Two earthquakes of magnitude 3.4 and 4.3 occurred in the Simav district of our province at 8:24 p.m. this evening. As of now, there is nothing to worry about. Get well soon to our fellow citizens. May Allah protect our country and our beloved nation.”
