Israeli drone strike hits displacement tents in Gaza, killing women and children

At least 10 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed when Israeli forces targeted tents sheltering displaced civilians in southern Gaza, according to eyewitness reports.

The attack took place in the city of Khan Younis, where many had sought refuge from earlier bombardments. Witnesses said the tents were bombed and several victims were burned to death.

Those killed and injured were taken to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

The Israeli military resumed heavy attacks on Gaza on March 18, following the collapse of a cease-fire that had been in place since Jan. 19.

Death toll reaches 51,000 in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023

Since hostilities resumed, 1,652 Palestinians—mostly elderly people, women, and children—have been killed, and 4,391 have been wounded.

In total, since Israel launched its offensive on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, the death toll has reached 51,025, with 116,432 injured, according to Palestinian health authorities.
