The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has issued arrest warrants for 12 municipal employees, including Besiktas Deputy Mayor Ali Riza Yilmaz, as part of an ongoing corruption investigation into a criminal organization allegedly led by Aziz Ihsan Aktas.

The investigation centers on public tenders awarded by the Besiktas Municipality, which were allegedly manipulated in favor of the criminal network.

Authorities believe the tenders were rigged during the preparation phase, with evidence of serious irregularities.

Search and seizure operations were carried out at the suspects’ residences, resulting in the detention of 11 individuals.

Police confirmed that searches are continuing and efforts to locate the last suspect are still underway.
