Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and Embraer have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential industrial cooperation, targeting aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and research and development.

The agreement was signed during LAAD Defence & Security 2025 in Rio de Janeiro by Mustafa Gursoy, executive vice president of Turkish Aerospace, and Francisco Gomes Neto, president and CEO of Embraer.

High-level officials in attendance included Geraldo Alckmin, Brazil’s vice president and minister of development, industry, trade, and services; Muhammet Kasim Gonullu, Türkiye’s deputy minister of industry and technology; and Suay Alpay, vice chairman of Turkish Aerospace’s board of directors.

In a social media post on X, TAI announced the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and said, “We signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Embraer on the first day of the LAAD 2025 Defense Fair held in Brazil.”

According to TAI, the MoU will cover areas such as “Cooperation between the two companies will be strengthened through joint production activities. New opportunities in the field of R&D and engineering will be evaluated.”

Expanding global partnerships in aerospace manufacturing

Embraer is actively expanding its global supply chain to meet increasing product demand. Through this MoU, Turkish Aerospace aims to offer its capabilities in metallic and composite structure manufacturing, fuselage assembly, component integration, test and production flights, and aircraft painting.

The companies will evaluate a potential comprehensive industrial partnership, including joint R&D initiatives, to enhance global aerospace collaboration and innovation.

Mehmet Demiroglu, CEO of Turkish Aerospace, states, “This memorandum marks a significant milestone for the Turkish defense and aerospace industry. Through our collaboration with Embraer, we aim to further enhance our technological capabilities and shape the future of aviation. By combining our strengths, we are not only building for today but also laying the foundation for the aviation ecosystem of tomorrow.”

Strategic alignment and technological advancement

The MoU signals a step toward aligning Türkiye’s aerospace manufacturing strengths with Embraer’s global strategic goals.

Turkish Aerospace brings experience in full-cycle aircraft development, while Embraer seeks partners that can support its expanding production and innovation pipeline.

Francisco Gomes Neto, president and CEO of Embraer, said, “Embraer is excited about these significant opportunities with Turkish Aerospace.

Their expertise in aerospace manufacturing and assembly aligns perfectly with our strategic goals. This MoU marks a significant step towards exploring innovative solutions and expanding our global footprint.”
