President Erdogan reaffirms Türkiye’s support for Somalia’s peace and security

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations, as well as global and regional issues, according to the Turkish Communications Directorate.
During the meeting at the presidential complex in Ankara, Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to Somalia’s peace, security, and territorial integrity, vowing continued support for the country’s efforts to establish lasting peace and stability, particularly in cooperation with Ethiopia.

Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s growing cooperation with Somalia in combating terrorism, noting that Türkiye has consistently stood by the Somali people in their fight against extremism.
He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two nations in areas including the economy, trade, security, and defense.
