Havelsan, Egypt’s Kader sign agreement for joint production of unmanned ground vehicles

Turkish defense company Havelsan and Egypt’s Kader Factory, part of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday to begin the joint production of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in Egypt’s capital, Cairo.
The agreement was signed by Havelsan’s Deputy General Manager, Sevket Unal, and Kader Factory President Amr Abdulaziz.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Sen, also attended the signing ceremony, underscoring the significance of the partnership between the two countries in the defense sector.
“I am confident this initial step will lead to further projects to the benefit of both sides,” Ambassador Sen said, reflecting on the importance of collaboration in the defense industry.

Joint production to begin this year
Under the terms of the agreement, Havelsan will provide technical and licensing support to Kader Factory, which is expected to begin production of unmanned ground vehicles later this year.
The project is seen as a significant move in strengthening defense industry ties between Türkiye and Egypt, with both countries looking to enhance their military technological capabilities.
Following the signing ceremony, Kader Factory President Abdulaziz gave a tour of the factory facilities to Ambassador Sen and Havelsan officials.
The factory, which produces various commercial products, including motorcycles, golf carts, and furniture, was highlighted as a key industrial hub in Egypt.

Step toward stronger bilateral relations
Ambassador Sen expressed confidence that the collaboration between Havelsan and Kader Factory would benefit both Türkiye and Egypt, not only in defense production, but also in strengthening broader economic ties.
He praised the factory’s advanced technology and high-quality production standards, positioning Kader as one of the leading industrial facilities in Egypt.
The deal comes when both countries are looking to expand their defense cooperation.
Havelsan, a leader in military and defense technology in Türkiye, will bring its expertise in unmanned systems and advanced technologies to support Egypt’s growing defense sector.
