Turkish air forces eliminate four PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, underscoring ongoing commitment to counterterrorism

The Turkish Armed Forces killed four PKK terrorists in the Metina region of northern Iraq in an air operation, the National Defense Ministry said in a statement Tuesday. 

The statement emphasized that the fight against terrorism will continue effectively and decisively.

The PKK has waged a terror campaign against Türkiye for over 35 years, resulting in the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.

The organization is recognized as a terrorist group by Türkiye, the U.S. and the European Union.

Türkiye has consistently raised concerns regarding the tolerance extended to the PKK and its supporters across Europe.
