Izmir’s Defense Exhibition in the Seferihisar district, organized in line with the ongoing EFES-2024 Combined Joint Fire Field Exercise, showcases cutting-edge technologies, including weapons and defense systems.

Hosted by Türkiye and managed by the Aegean Army Command, the exercise involved participation from friendly and allied countries. It included the opening of a Defense Industry Exhibition in the Doganbey Exercise Area.

The exhibition, which features technologies from 43 Turkish defense industry companies, showcases systems that will be used for the live fire segment of the exercise, as well as some products and systems that are being introduced.

The exhibition allows participating countries to witness the capabilities of the Turkish defense industry, which develops, produces, and provides a wide range of security forces systems, such as UAVs, helicopters, warships, ammunition, electronic warfare and radar systems.

Daghan H-620 and Kemankes 2 unveiled for the first time

Among the showcased vehicles is the Daghan H-620 hybrid drive armored combat vehicle, designed by the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and modern armies.

Daghan, a 17–20 ton class armored combat vehicle with hybrid drive and tracks, stands out for its new-generation technologies, remote control capability, and integration of a 20–40 millimeter remotely controlled weapon system.

Daghan’s key features include a low infrared signature and silent movement enabled by the hybrid drive system.

The Kemankes 2 mini smart cruise missile, developed by Baykar and designed for use against strategic targets, was unveiled for the first time.

Equipped with an artificial intelligence-assisted autopilot system, Kemankes 2 can autonomously fly and effectively neutralize strategic targets with high precision for approximately one hour in the air.

The mini smart cruise missile, which uses its indigenous jet engine, can effectively engage the most critical targets behind enemy lines with speed and is operable in both day and night conditions.

The exercise also features the Bogac 6×6 multipurpose unmanned ground vehicle, developed and upgraded by Elektroland Defense.

Among the highlighted technologies in the exhibition are products like the TB3 unmanned aerial vehicle, H620 tracked armored vehicle, Amazon 4×4 multipurpose armored vehicle, Altay main battle tank, 100% Indigenous 20-millimeter nose cannon used for ATAK helicopters, robot dogs for mine searches and cave reconnaissance, and fully electric, pilotless helicopters equivalent to TSK’s inventory.
