Saudi Arabian clubs show interest in Besiktas’ Italian star Ciro Immobile

Saudi Arabian clubs expressed strong interest in Ciro Immobile, who has struggled to meet expectations at Besiktas.
The Italian striker, signed with high hopes at the start of the season, has faced criticism due to both his underwhelming performances and his €6 million ($6.5 million) annual salary. Many expected that the arrival of head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would help him regain form, but his performances have continued to disappoint.
Following Besiktas’ recent defeats, Immobile has become a primary target of criticism, making his departure at the end of the season increasingly likely.
Financial burden, transfer prospects
Several clubs from the Saudi Pro League have reportedly approached Besiktas to inquire about Immobile’s availability. With one year remaining on his contract, Besiktas, having paid €2 million for his transfer, is open to selling him. The growing interest from Saudi clubs could lead to a competitive bidding process, potentially securing a notable transfer fee for the club.

‘I have found my form again’
Speaking to the Italian media, Immobile commented on his season, stating that although he started well, an injury setback affected his performance.
“I went through both physical and mental difficulties because I struggled to score for a long time. There is significant pressure in Turkey, and the fans have high expectations. However, a few weeks ago, I finally regained my form and started scoring again,” he said.
