Hamas blames Israel for breaking cease-fire, demands Netanyahu be held accountable

Hamas accuses Israel of breaking the cease-fire agreement unilaterally and called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be held accountable for the escalation in Gaza.
The group also urged international mediators, including the United States, Qatar, and Egypt, to hold Israel responsible for the termination of the truce.
Israel’s recent attack on Gaza
The violence resumed following Israel’s airstrikes on Gaza, which Hamas described as a violation of the cease-fire and a continuation of Israel’s “genocidal” actions against the Palestinian population.
Hamas claims Israel undermined the peace process and caused the Palestinian people to suffer, particularly by blocking vital aid, including food and medicine, from entering Gaza.
Hamas official Izzet al-Risheq issued a statement, accusing Netanyahu of not adhering to previous promises and claiming that the airstrikes were part of an effort to “sacrifice the lives of captives.” He further stressed that Israel’s attacks would not achieve the outcomes it failed to achieve through negotiations.
The international community, including the United Nations Security Council, has been urged to take action against Israel’s continued aggression. Hamas has called for an emergency meeting of the Security Council to address the situation in Gaza, where the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen.
Israeli media is reporting that the prosecution has agreed to a request to cancel the Israeli PMs testimony in a corruption trial against him, due to “security developments”.
Netanyahu had asked for his testimony on Tuesday to be cancelled, hours after the Israel’s renewed attacks on the Gaza Strip.
