Turkish defense industry prepares for artificial intelligence breakthrough

Ahmet Bahadir Bulbul, the Head of the Cyber Security Information Systems Department at the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), expressed the intention to further enhance the Turkish defense industry’s supremacy with the integration of artificial intelligence

Highlighting Türkiye’s prominent position in the global defense sector, Ahmet Bahadir Bulbul, the Head of the Cyber Security Information Systems Department at the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), remarked, “Türkiye has witnessed substantial growth in its defense industry in recent years, emerging as one of our most competitive domains. We no longer perceive ourselves as mere followers but rather contenders in the international defense arena.”

Bulbul underscored their commitment to staying abreast of advancements in the defense industry, citing artificial intelligence as a prime example. 

He stated, “Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly and influencing every sector. To sustain our edge in defense, we aim to harness the potential of artificial intelligence. We are actively pursuing various initiatives towards this end, striving to foster its integration into our defense ecosystem.”

Emphasizing the significance of artificial intelligence for the Turkish defense sector, Bulbul noted, “Artificial intelligence, being an informatics technology, offers a swifter adoption process compared to others. This presents us with a valuable opportunity to align with global standards. By swiftly integrating these technologies into our defense sector, I am confident we can further bolster our competitive advantage in the foreseeable future.”
