Defense Minister Guler calls for immediate dissolution of PKK, affiliates

Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense (MoD), Yasar Guler, has called for the immediate dissolution of the PKK and all affiliated groups, stating that they must surrender their weapons unconditionally.
He dismissed any discussions of a cease-fire, emphasizing that such terms were not on the table.
Speaking at the Ministry of National Defense’s Ataturk Cultural Center during a ceremony marking the 110th anniversary of the March 18 Martyrs’ Memorial Day and the Canakkale Naval Victory, Guler underscored Türkiye’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.

Minister Guler: No cease-fire discussions, only disarmament
“The PKK terrorist organization and all its affiliates operating under different names across various regions must immediately decide to disband and surrender their weapons unconditionally,” Guler said.
“Any statements or actions suggesting otherwise hold no weight and will not be acknowledged,” he added.
Guler strongly rejected the notion of a cease-fire, stating, “Cease-fire is not a matter of discussion, nor will it ever be. Our ultimate goal, shared by 85 million citizens, is the complete elimination of terrorism and all threats against our country.”
At this point, it is noteworthy that the organization, which has admitted to being the longest and most extensive rebellion and violence movement in the history of the Republic, has finally realized—albeit belatedly—that terrorism leads nowhere, that its time has come to an end, and that it has no choice but to dissolve itself.
However, the terrorist organization PKK and all its affiliates operating under different names and in various regions must immediately decide to disband and unconditionally lay down their arms, regardless of their location. Any statement or action to the contrary is meaningless and will remain so.
In this context, matters such as a ceasefire, which are not mentioned in the text, should not be brought up, as such a thing is absolutely out of the question.
Our ultimate goal is to bring an end to terrorism, to completely eliminate terrorist organizations, and to eradicate any threat to our country, in line with the common aspiration of our 85 million citizens. Therefore, no attempts to sabotage, exploit, or prolong the process will be allowed; a cautious and rational approach will be adopted. Trust in the vast experience and foresight of our state, and rest assured.
