4.5-magnitude earthquake strikes Crete as Santorini seismic activity eases

Türkiye‘s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Mediterranean near Greece’s Crete island.

The earthquake occurred at around 6:40 p.m. local time and had a depth of 7.76 kilometers.

A second tremor, measuring 4.3 in magnitude, followed in the same region.
