Martin Scorcese to make film on Christianity, shortest of his career
Scorsese has completed the script for a short movie on Prophet Jesus alongside co-writer Jones
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, 81-year-old director Martin Scorsese said he would make a film “to dispel negativity about religion” but did not want to “proselytize, but to focus on the basic teachings of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).”
The film will be based on the novel “A Life of Jesus” by the late Japanese writer Shusaku Endo, raising questions about how much the movie will reflect the life of Prophet Jesus.
Scorsese, together with Jones, the producer of “Killers of the Flower Moon,” announced that the film about Prophet Jesus would be set largely in the present day and would have a running time of 80 minutes, making it the shortest film of his career.
