Turkish interior minister vows to continue counterterrorism efforts ‘until last terrorist eliminated’

In a resolute statement, Turkiye’s Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, affirmed the nation’s ongoing commitment to counterterrorism efforts on Sunday, vowing to persist “until the last terrorist is eliminated.”
The declaration came as Yerlikaya highlighted the ongoing “Heroes-42” operations targeting the PKK terrorist group in various regions across the country.
The minister’s remarks were disseminated through a public post, showcasing the breadth and intensity of the current operations. According to Yerlikaya, the Heroes-42 initiative involves 37 teams comprising 518 gendarmerie personnel. These forces are actively engaged in operations against the PKK, across Cudi Mountain, Gabar Mountain, Beytussebap, and Bestler Dereler regions.
“We are carrying out operations 365 days a year, 4 seasons, 12 months, day and night,” Yerlikaya noted, emphasizing the relentless nature of the operations.
The statement underlined the Turkish government’s unwavering stance against terrorism and its commitment to continuous action irrespective of the time of year or conditions.
In his message, Yerlikaya also expressed his reverence and support for the personnel involved in these operations.
