In the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid played a thrilling match that went into extra time. Real Madrid defeated its rival 4-2 in a penalty shootout.

Atletico struck early, with Conor Gallagher scoring just 28 seconds into the game, leveling the aggregate score at 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes.

Real Madrid had a golden opportunity to regain the lead when they were awarded a penalty, but Vinicius Junior’s attempt sailed over the bar.

Arda Guler is benched again

Turkish national player Arda Guler was not included in the matchday squad for this fixture.

Güler has struggled to secure playing time under manager Carlo Ancelotti, leading to speculation about his future at the club.
