Turkish political news outlet Duvar has decided to shut down as financial difficulties deepen, exacerbated by the failure to reach an agreement in collective bargaining negotiations, Turkish media reported on Wednesday.

Founded in August 2016, Duvar has recently experienced a significant decline in revenue, making it unable to cover its operating costs.

While no official statement has been released regarding the closure, employees were reportedly informed of the decision today. The site’s management is expected to issue a formal announcement in the coming hours.

Duvar expanded its reach in 2019 by launching “Duvar English,” an English-language edition of the platform.
