Turkish authorities foil planned bombing in Adana, three suspects arrested

Turkish authorities thwarted a planned bombing in the southern city of Adana last month, leading to the arrest of three suspects, Adana Governor Yavuz Selim Kosger announced Monday.

Security measures prevent bombing plot
Speaking at the “Public Safety and Security Evaluation Meeting” held at the Governor’s Office, Kosger provided details on law enforcement operations carried out in February.
According to Kosger, authorities conducted 23 counterterrorism operations throughout the month, including four in rural areas and 19 in urban centers. These operations resulted in 18 arrests, with eight suspects formally detained.
He also noted that five operations targeting the terrorist group Daesh led to the arrest of 10 suspects, five of whom were taken into custody.
“From time to time, there are attempts to destabilize our city. Some of these efforts have been successfully prevented. Last month, law enforcement foiled a planned bombing by terrorist organizations, leading to the arrest of three suspects,” Kosger stated.
