Musk claims Soros among donors funding Tesla protests amid vandalism

Tesla facilities and charging stations have faced a series of attacks across the United States, prompting CEO Elon Musk to claim that Democratic donors are funding organized protests against his electric vehicle company.
The incidents include the torching of seven Tesla charging stations in Massachusetts last week and the arrest of a woman on February 24 for allegedly attempting to set fire to a Tesla dealership in Colorado, according to reports.
Musk took to his social media platform X on Saturday to directly accuse several prominent Democratic donors of orchestrating the demonstrations.
“An investigation has found 5 ActBlue-funded groups responsible for Tesla ‘protests’: Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project, and Democratic Socialists of America,” Musk wrote.
He specifically named billionaire George Soros, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, Herbert Sandler, Patricia Bauman, and Leah Hunt-Hendrix as ActBlue funders, suggesting they were behind the incidents.
ActBlue, established in 2004, serves as a key fundraising platform for Democratic campaigns and has reportedly generated millions for Vice President Harris’ campaign and affiliated causes.
Musk further claimed that ActBlue is currently under investigation for allegedly allowing illegal foreign donations, noting that “seven ActBlue senior officials resigned, including the associate general counsel” this week.
“If you know anything about this, please post in replies. Thanks, Elon,” he added in his post.
The accusations come as Musk has taken on a political role leading former President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, where he has overseen significant reductions in the federal workforce.
Musk’s claims about organized opposition have not been independently verified, and the named organizations have not publicly responded to the allegations as of press time.
