Thousands of women killed or disabled in ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza

Thousands of women have been killed or injured and at least 2,000 have lost limbs or have become “permanently disabled” in Israeli attacks that have lasted over 15 months, according to reports.
In a statement by the head of the Media Office of the Gaza government, Salama Marouf, on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, he called on the international community to remember the massacres that Israel has carried out, particularly against women.
Marouf stated that 12,316 women lost their lives in Israel’s genocide in Gaza and that 2,000 women and girls became “permanently disabled” after losing some of their organs. He also mentioned that 162 women contracted infectious diseases during this period and that many women were subjected to various forms of torture in Israeli prisons.
Marouf shared the following information: “13,901 women were left widowed. 17,000 mothers lost their children. 50,000 pregnant women lost their unborn babies due to inhumane conditions.”
Emphasizing that Israel continues its blockade and obstructs humanitarian aid, Marouf pointed out that women in Gaza are struggling to survive in conditions of hunger and thirst.
Marouf highlighted that women in Gaza want to know, “Where is the international community and the organizations that advocate for women’s rights in response to this oppression we are enduring?”
