Ankara hosts ‘2024 Hungarian-Turkish Year of Culture’ events after Istanbul
The cultural events comprised the glass art exhibition and the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra Concert
The ‘2024 Turkish-Hungarian Year of Culture’ events, which were inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to Budapest on Dec.18, 2023, continued in Ankara after Istanbul.
The cultural events comprised the glass art exhibition and the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra Concert – which included the well-known works of world-renowned Hungarian composers Zoltan Kodaly and Bela Bartok as well as Ahmet Adnan Saygun’s Symphony No. 5.
Several officials, including Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the European Union (EU) Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, attended the event.
Moreover, Head of the EU Delegation to Türkiye Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, Undersecretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation Peter Hoppal, Ambassador of Hungary to Ankara Viktor Matis and many other guests attended the exhibition and the concert.
Ambassador Matis maintained that art and science should not only present Hungarian achievements but should also be open to the initiative and participation of fruitful international cooperation between artists, collections and institutions, pointing out that the Turkish-Hungarian Year of Culture will further strengthen the friendship of the two countries.
